I've been thinking of making a few posts on it. Let me know if you think I should!
I wanted to share a snippet from my novella that I'm writing! It's from the end of Chapter nine.
Erin and Mom walked onto the dock and stood at the end. A breathtaking sunset reflected off the water of Lake Evergreen. Oranges, reds, yellows, pinks, and purples shone peacefully on them as they stood there, taking it in.
After a moment, Erin spoke quietly. “I wish all of life was like this. Peaceful, perfect, and beautiful. Evergreen.”
Mom nodded, and thought for a moment. “Life isn’t, but Jesus is.” She said softly. They stood there a few more minutes, then walked back to shore. The boys were just coming out of the cabin, and James was talking excitedly.
Mom and Erin walked back up the cabin to start making dinner. They roasted hot dogs over a campfire and later ate s’mores. But all through the rest of the evening, the beautiful colors of the sunset and flames of the campfire flickered in Erin’s head. Because even though life wasn’t perfect, she knew that Jesus was. And nothing could ever change that.
What is your favorite part of Autumn?
I feel like there's an argument that will never end about whether autumn should be called fall or autumn. What do you think?
I think Autumn sounds so aesthetic. (I don't even really know what that means, it just sounded right)
Fall just sounds like...have a nice trip, see you next fall...kinda thing, ya know?
Anyway, I'm so excited to be back on my blog!
Until next time,
Haha! i think Autumn sounds better too! :D
ReplyDeleteGreat! Glad we agree on that :D
