With Wings Like Eagles

Hi friends!

I hope you all have been having a wonderful few weeks! 😊

I have been going through a time of waiting and waiting and. . . you guessed it β€” waiting!

What have you been waiting for; you might ask me?

Well, many things.

For one, my mom is going to have a baby in March! πŸ˜‡

So, I've definitely been waiting for that.

And I've also been going through a time of wanting to do big things for God, but not really having the ability to do much yet!

For example, I can't drive a car - although hopefully I'll start training this year - and that keeps me from being able to go to a lot of places. Of course, my parents often drive me, but there's still that inability to go wherever!

So, I've been waiting for that too!

And I still have plenty of school, which also keeps me from doing a lot of things. πŸ˜†

I could go on and on about what I've been waiting for!

And I'm sure you are waiting for something or have before or will in the future. 😊

The Bible talks a lot about waiting.

My favorite verse on this topic is probably Isaiah 40:31 which says, β€œBut they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

This verse is such an encouragement to me when I'm waiting. My strength will be renewed, I will mount up with wings like eagles, I won't be weary or faint.

Those are promises from God. And God always keeps his word. β™‘

Another verse that is encouraging for me is also a verse from Isaiah. β€œFrom of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides you, who acts for those who wait for him.” -Isaiah 64:4

Our God is the only God who acts for those who wait for him! This verse not only tells us that God is the best God EVER, but it also gives us another promise: that God will act.

It might not be in our timing, and it might not be the way we want it, but God will act!

I have one more verse that I'd like to share with you, and then some additional verses on waiting that you can further meditate on if you wish to.

β€œThe Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” -Lamentations 3:25

The Lord is good to those who wait for him. And sometimes, we forget that God is always good to us. It's not only when we're waiting. God is always good.

Isn't our God amazing?! πŸ₯°

Here's a list of additional verses about waiting. But please make sure to read these in context! I haven't studied the verses around them enough to make sure they're talking about us, and not some random guy from the Bible. πŸ˜‰

You can remember, though, that if God says something about Israel, usually he's also talking about us who are Christians, since we are also now his people!

For example, if he says how much he loves Israel, he is also saying how much he loves you! If you are one of his people!

  • Psalm 27:14
  • Isaiah 30:18
  • Psalm 130:5-6
  • Exodus 14:14
  • Psalm 37:34
  • Psalm 62:5
  • Psalm 37:7
  • Psalm 46:10
  • Proverbs 20:22
There are probably many other verses in the Bible about waiting, but this is a place to start! πŸ˜‹

I'm going to end this post with a prayer, and this prayer is actually also a verse.

β€œOur soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.”

In Christ,

Lucy K.
