One of my friends recommended a brilliant idea to me a few weeks ago.
She said I should do 'Winter is Almost Here' blog post since a few months ago I did an 'Autumn is Almost Here' post!
So here we are! 👀
It's gonna be a tradition (would it even be called a tradition since that's usually every year?).
And wow! It's ONLY A WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAS! 😃✨❄️🎄
I want to ask you a question.
When you hear the word 'Christmas', what is the first thing that comes to mind?
Is it a decorated tree? Or maybe gifts? Or cookies or snow or movies?
Well, there's most definitely nothing wrong about those things!
But I want to remind you what Christmas is really all about.
The reason for Christmas is ultimately Jesus' birth!
It's to celebrate his coming to earth and humbling himself into becoming fully human to save us!
Sometimes it's easy to forget this amidst all of the excitement of Christmas. And that's why I'm here reminding you! 😉
And I want to give you a challenge.
On Christmas morning, before you open gifts or eat yummy food or anything else, I want you to do something. Are you ready for it? Okay, here it is:
- Spend your time with God and in his Word.
This might be easier for some people more than others.
In fact I know quite a few people who wake up so early on Christmas morning from excitement that they have hours on their hands before they actually start their Christmas celebrations.
For them it might be easy.
But for those of us who wake up and go get our parents instantly (this may or may not be me) and then open a bunch of presents, this will be more difficult.
But you can do it!
Let me know how it goes 😋!
P.S. I have a surprise for you in the new year!
Thank you for the reminder, Lucy! Spending more time with Jesus in the wakes of Christmas morning with grandchildren will definitely help me with the anxiety of “What did I forget?”, or “What else do I have to do?”….. Spending more time with Jesus every morning is a no-brainer. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOf course! ☺ I'm so glad this encouraged you! ♡
